The ‘Miffy will find your mummy’ signs are an indication that Egmond aan Zee is a genuine family seaside resort. You are even greeted by the famous rabbit at the main entrance to the beach. Equally child-friendly is Zilte Zoen, a beach pavilion that’s open all year round.
Finding Zilte Zoen is simply a matter of following the white lighthouse because the beach pavilion is right next to it. It’s a lovely place to spend time with the kids. While they are catching crabs at low tide, you can sit on the terrace with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. If it starts to rain, you can come here to shelter and in winter it’s a great place to warm up. Meanwhile the children can entertain themselves in the play corner, or eat from the kids’ menu.

Zilte Zoen also has branches in Bergen aan Zee and Schoorl. At Schoorl, there’s a restaurant at the base of the Climbing Dune.
