Pancakes plus

Going for a walk through the beautiful forest at Fort Rhijnauwen before sitting down for pancakes at a tea house already sounds like a fun day out, doesn’t it? Wait until the kids find out that besides tasty food, Theehuis Rhijnauwen also has goats, donkeys and a playground!

“The two donkeys, Carlos and Isabella, make the pancake party complete.”

At Rhijnauwen Tea House, they lovingly cook pancakes all year round, making it a firm family favourite. No pancake party can be complete without the colouring pages, kiddies’ corner, playground, goats and two donkeys, Carlos and Isabella. It is worth noting that this tea house is also the starting point for six walking routes. The 1 km ‘Tea House’ route across the Rhijnauwen estate for children is excellent, or perhaps they can handle the 3 km seasonal walk.

Nice to know

Fort Rhijnauwen is the largest fort along the New Dutch Waterline and is home to numerous inhabitants you don’t see every day, such as kingfishers, roe deer, badgers, grass snakes and weasels. However, to allow these animals to live in peace, the fort is not open to the public.
