Lost in the labyrinth

It’s quite likely your kids will run off as soon as you set foot on the grounds of Nieuw Slagmaat. There’s so much for them to see and do on this farm.

When the maze is open, they can run around for ages trying to find their way out. Fortunately, there’s a watch tower so you can keep an eye on them!

“Come to Nieuw Slagmaat Farm when the corn maze is open or in September when you can pick apples.”

You’ll find out there’s always work to be done on the farm if you visit Nieuw Slagmaat. They grow fruit, there are lots of animals wandering around, there’s a small boarding stable for horses and ponies, they grow corn and cereals – in fact, the Van der Maat family have plenty to keep them occupied. They also have a farm shop where you can buy their delicious produce. The children can have even more fun there when the corn maze is open or during the apple-picking season in September.

Hey, did you know?

Nieuw Slagmaat Farm is located in a historic place: precisely on the border of the ancient Roman Empire. A large castellum in which soldiers would guard the border lies buried beneath the ground opposite the farm. The surrounding land, which is still very fertile to this day, was used to grow food to feed the garrison.
