Wander with a Walking Bike
Cycling and walking: perfectly fine, of course. But if you’d like to do something completely different, the walking bike, or Lopifit, is the way to go. This is an electrically-driven combination of a kick scooter and a regular bike.
Nice and active, without bathing in sweat from the effort. That’s how we can best describe a trip on a walking bike. As the wind blows through your hair, you ‘walk’ through the beautiful and open landscape of Texel from one nostalgic village to the next. Along the way, you’ll encounter countless sheep. With a speed of up to 25 kilometres per hour, you can explore a large part of the island within a few hours. And with minimum effort, which is certainly pleasant in case of headwind!
Nice to know!
There are two beautiful routes: the Waddenroute (mudflat route) of 20 kilometres and the Vuurtorenroute (lighthouse route) of 30 kilometres. Both routes start in Oosterend, where you can rent the walking bike.
