Fabulous Dutch fare

If you’re looking for a great place to eat, Klaas in Uitgeest is worth a detour. The owners describe it as rustic, Dutch and hip. Almost everything is either homemade or locally sourced and they even serve their own beer: de Witte Klaas.

“Rustic, Dutch and hip: that is Klaas bar-restaurant in a nutshell.”

Cast an eye at the menu and you’ll realise at once you’ll be staying for a while. Everything from the appetisers and desserts to the starters and main courses will make your mouth water. In addition, the owners, Niek Groen and Jos Keijsper are excellent hosts. Both men gained experience at some highly esteemed restaurants: De Bokkedoorns, De Librije, La Rive and Chapeau! So the bar has been set pretty high! Be sure to order a beer from one of the small North Holland breweries.

Nice to know

North Holland is home to many small breweries, such as Bierderij Waterland in Katwoude, Dampegheest in Limmen, de Lepelaer in Oudesluis and Tiecelijn in Heemskerk.
