‘t Proefstraatje or tasting street sounds like fun. It’s the name given to Apeldoorn’s very popular Van Kinsbergenstraat, where you’ll find a variety of restaurants in which you can sample cooking from all over the world.
Walk along Van Kinsbergenstraat looking for a nice place to eat and you’ll be spoilt for choice. For instance, at Nº 1 you have Restaurant Recht, a stylish, monumental building where they serve traditional dishes like beefsteak and salmon. If you fancy freshly roasted coffee, drop in at Schenkers at Nº 8. If you’ve never tried Afghan food, be sure to visit Watan at Nº 11, where you can taste spicy kofta and kabuli pulau. Fans of Indian cuisine should head to India Palace at Nº 7.

The last weekend of September is when to go to Apeldoorn for the 'Tasting Event' of 't Proefstraatje: the culinary spectacle of this street. During this event you can taste special drinks and all kinds of specialties from the many different cuisines. Live jazz music from 'Taste Of Jazz' can be heard from the stage.
