Children's Book Museum: where stories come to life

On an adventure with Frog, Dolly Wolfboy or Pluck of the Lint? At the Children's Book Museum in The Hague you can step right into your favourite stories. Interactive, imaginative and above all great fun for children (and secretly for parents too)!

The Children's Book Museum is the place where reading becomes an adventure. Here you can not only look, but also do! Step into the shoes of your favourite book characters, solve playful puzzles and discover how stories come to life. From colourful installations to fun activities: here you will discover how magical children's books are.

A museum where you don't have to sit still? This is the place to be!

There are special exhibitions for children of different ages. For children aged 7 and over, there is ‘Papiria’, an exciting expedition in which they must defeat the monster Inktvraat together with Dolfje Weerwolfje, Minoes and Pippi Langkous. Younger visitors (0 to 6 years old) can step into the world of Kikker and his friends.

And all ages can join in at the ‘Reading Tent’, where parents, grandparents and children can experience the magic of books together. In a cosy setting, adults read aloud while children bring the story to life with sound effects and projections. An enchanting experience!

Nice to know

Did you know that the Netherlands has a real Children's Book Ambassador? Martijn van der Linden is committed to getting everyone reading. His embassy has a permanent place in the museum: an inspiring space where stories are shared and where children can become Book Ambassadors themselves!
