Want to experience the Netherlands as it looks on postcards? Rent a Vespa scooter and tour along the colourful bulb fields, mills and characteristic villages of the Bollenstreek region. That’s about as Dutch as it gets.
The Bollenstreek is situated in the middle of the Randstad between the cities Amsterdam, Haarlem, Leiden and The Hague. Because there’s so much to see, it’s recommended to rent a Vespa. This allows you to explore the region in just a few hours. This region isn’t just known for its bulb fields, but also its 18-metre long beach, a unique dune area and the Hollandse Plassen. Don’t forget to visit one of the many characteristic villages, such as Voorhout and Sassenheim.
Good to know!
In the Netherlands, thousands of hectares of flower bulbs are grown. The majority of this consists of tulips that bloom from half April until the beginning of May.
