The Mondrian route is the best way to experience Domburg through the eyes of one of Holland's most famous artists. Walk along the dunes, through the woods and along the beach where Mondrian found his inspiration in the early 20th century. Along the way you will discover information panels with stories about his work and how the light and landscape of Zeeland influenced his iconic style.
The route is about 1,5 hour long and suitable for young and old. Ideal to combine with a day at the beach or a visit to one of the cosy terraces in the centre of Domburg. Tip: bring a sketchbook and let your creativity run wild!
Walking along the Mondrian route is like walking through one of Mondrian's paintings: full of colour, rhythm and tranquillity.
What makes the Mondrian route extra special? You can also visit the Marie Tak van Poortvliet Museum along the way, which regularly hosts exhibitions about Mondrian and other artists who were inspired by Domburg. This allows you to dive even deeper into the art history of this unique place.
