A museum about wine, does such a thing exist? Certainly, in Arnhem. A definite must-see for everyone who doesn’t just enjoy drinking wine, but who would also like to know more about viticulture, wine culture and wine history. Please note: only open on Saturday!
Like visiting a French wine chateau, that’s what a visit to the historic cellars of the Nederlands Wijnmuseum means. You walk past rows and rows of oak barrels and racks filled with wine bottles. In the museum, you can discover all facets of wine production. Afterwards, you’ll definitely want to taste some of these wines yourself. So, be sure to reserve a tasting in wine café Le Jardin. Extra fun: a wine expert can teach you the wine tasting technique.
Nice to know!
Wine house Robbers & van den Hoogen can be found next to the wine museum. This is one of the oldest wine houses in the Netherlands and was founded in 1842. Since 1992, the wine house carries the Royal Warrant of Appointment. During one of the packages of the Nederlands Wijnmuseum, you’ll also be given a tour through their wine cellars.
