If you’d like to learn how to pull a good espresso and how to create a heart in a cappuccino, then sign up for a barista workshop at BABO, whose baristas have already walked off with a series of prizes.
BABO is the kind of place that seems never to close its doors. The neighbourhood café is open seven days a week from early morning until late in the evening. Whenever you choose to visit, be sure to try the coffee. At BABO, they roast their own coffee been and the baristas are second to none.
You can marvel at the skills of the baristas during a barista workshop, or you can of course simply sit back and enjoy a cup of coffee. Tip: order a slice of BABO’s famous meringue cake with your coffee.
Nice to know
The Art Nouveau building that has housed BABO Café since 2007 has had various occupants. Built in 1901, there are still details in the cellar that testify to its initial purpose as a distillery. Just before WWII it was turned into a hairdresser’s, which in turn made way for much talked-about cafés such as The Joint and Dingo’s in the 1980s.
