11 August 2015 - Discover Rotterdam and The Hague
Rotterdam is a city of many faces: a tough port city, a trendy nightlife city, a sophisticated shopping city, and a hip artistic city. Above all, Rotterdam is the architecture city of Holland that stimulates innovation. Its skyline is always changing. There are many things to do amid Rotterdam’s skyscrapers. You can go on a shopping spree, enjoy some excellent food, and visit a range of museums and attractions in and around the city centre.
The best-known museums in town and two of Holland’s most sophisticated museums, Boijmans van Beuningen and Kunsthal, are located on the Museumpark in Rotterdam. Elsewhere in the city you will find even more museums and exciting attractions, such as the Scheepvaartmuseum shipping museum, Euromast, Hotel New York, Spido and Steamship Rotterdam. If the cultural offering doesn’t convince you, the huge and varied shop offering will.

Royal The Hague
The Hague (Den Haag in Dutch) is one of the most extraordinary cities in Holland. Not just because it is our government city, but also because of its many monuments, historic districts and its location near the beautiful North Sea coastline. The Hague is also known as the 'Royal City by the Sea' and is called ‘the residence city’ because of the many members of the Dutch Royal Family who reside in its chic neighbourhoods.
The Plein and Grote Markt squares abound with great restaurants, eateries, coffee houses and night clubs and are lively and welcoming places every day of the week. The Hague’s shopping is as varied as the city itself, ranging from luxury department stores and international top brands to cosy little streets filled with boutiques and specialty shops. It also has a lot of internationally renowned art and culture to offer.
And last but not least, The Hague proves that a modern skyline and a historic city centre are perfect partners. Scheveningen, the best known seaside resort on the Dutch coast, is a great place to go for a suntan and water sports in summer and a bracing walk in winter. With attractions like Madurodam miniature city and the Omniversum dome movie theatre, The Hague is also a wonderful place for younger visitors. Truly, you have not seen Holland until you have been to The Hague!
