Stayokay Heemskerk is located in a 13th-century castle, Slot Assumburg. Whether you’re exploring the surrounding dune landscape or pay a visit to the town, at the hostel you’ll feel like lord or lady of the manor!

At Stayokay Heemskerk, in Slot Assumburg, you will get the feeling that you have woken up in a fairy tale. The grand entrance, beautiful rooms, the moat: everything is so enchanting! It’s an ideal location for a holiday, a trip with friends, a meeting or a wedding. After extensive renovations in 2005-2006, the hostel now has large, completely renovated rooms with private bathroom facilities – perfect for families. Have you always wanted to stay in a turret room or an orangery? Now’s your chance!

Travelling plan

Public transport: Take the train to Beverwijk station. Then take bus 74. Get off at the Jan van Kuikweg stop, which is 200 m from the hostel. You can also take a special ‘train taxi’ for a fixed price or regular taxi from Beverwijk station. Heemskerk station is a 20-minute walk from the hostel. There is no bus or train taxi service from Heemskerk station. You also can take the Fast Flying Ferry from Amsterdam Central station to Velsen Zuid. From here take bus 74 and get of at Jan van Kuikweg. To plan the train trip we recommend to use www.ns.nl.

Private transport: Take the A9 motorway towards Haarlem/Alkmaar. Take the Heemskerk exit and follow the signs to Heemskerk. At the mini-roundabout follow the signs pointing to the centre. At the first traffic lights take a left. Go 300 m, the hostel is on your left.
