A 27-km coastline of white sand, a beautiful dune landscape and picturesque villages: Ameland in a nutshell. Beautifully hidden in a hollow in the dunes, Stayokay Ameland is a unique place, where they are more than happy to share the delights of the island with you!

At Stayokay Ameland, you can sleep in a modern double, 4-bedded or 6-bedded room with its own bathroom facilities. The rooms are spread across three different buildings, located around a large sports field and playground where you can play volleyball, have a kart race, play on the swings or relax with a drink. You can also meet other guests in the friendly bar or the restaurant. And if it’s cold outside, one of the hostel staff will be happy to light a cosy fire in the sun room.

Travelling plan

Public transport: Take the train to Leeuwarden Central Station. Take bus 66 in the direction of Holwerd, where you will take the ferry to Nes, Ameland (a 45-minute trip). From Nes take bus 130 to the last stop, the hostel. To plan the train trip we recommend to use www.ns.nl.

Private transport: Go by car or bike to Holwerd. Take the ferry to Ameland. The trip lasts 45 minutes. Drivers: please note that you must be at the dock half an hour prior to departure. Reserve your place on the ferry by ringing +31(0)519 546 111. From Nes, head towards Hollum. After Hollum, the hostel is located 200m past the lighthouse on your left. Modiba Konaté unexpectedly visits Ameland

NES - Modiba Konaté from Mali recently paid a visit to Ameland. It turned into a working visit. The tall dark man with the white Ameland skull cap came to enjoy the island’s beautiful beaches, cloudy expanses, fresh air and friendly population.
